Why it matters
The need today
University education in Gaza has been profoundly disrupted. A UNESCO assessment covering 38 higher-education campuses found that 95% had been affected: 22 campuses were completely destroyed and another 14 sustained damage. UNESCO reported in May 2026 that Gaza has approximately 88,000 university students, while more than 13,000 were accessing temporary learning spaces created to help students continue their education under current conditions.
The impact we can make
Supporting students in circumstances like these is not simply about covering tuition. It helps determined young people continue developing the knowledge and skills they can use to serve their communities.
Helping students remain in university also supports Gaza's ability to retain and develop its own doctors, engineers, teachers, and other professionals — people who can serve their communities and participate in rebuilding and shaping their future.
The students bring the determination and ability. Student Aid helps remove one of the financial barriers standing between them and continuing their education.
Contribution
100% of your contribution is applied directly to the student's education need.
